Mas is first encountered in Company. When he performs for them, his terrible musical abilities horrify 
Chris, 
Ian, and 
Alfred. Ignoring them, however, he continues playing, so caught up in his music that he doesn't notice the monsters he attracts and even attacks the party himself.

After defeating him,  Lord praises his music, causing Mas to be incredibly grateful and joins the party to follow Lord. Although Alfred initially believes that Lord was making up his appreciation in order to manipulate Mas, it turns out that Lord's feelings are genuine.
